Lies, Damn lies, and hiding the truth behind TOS
Twitter can’t help itself and Elon Musk was not going to change that problem
I’m banned on Twitter again for an undetermined amount of time
Alright, today is an easy one. I posted a very innocuous comment regarding the Buffalo NY mass shooting, the New Zealand mosque mass shooting and the Azov Regiment, the openly pro-Nazi arm of the Ukrainian national guard. And for that I was banned under the guise of “abuse” and making people feel “unsafe” to share their ideas.
The photo attached to the tweet was a single page from a document claimed to be the Buffalo NY mass shooter’s manifesto, where he himself explicitly notes the significance of Brenton Tarrant, the New Zealand mosque mass shooter.
(An excerpt from the still unconfirmed manifesto)
So I did what any normal person would do and I wrote to Twitter support explaining that the tweet was simply discussing a current news event and this was a mistake on their part.
Twitter responded by telling me that I was in the wrong and asserting that my statement, which is based in simple fact, is abusive - to whom it doesn’t make clear, but I can only assume Twitter is doing this to protect Nazism and its supporters around the world, including mass shooters and an openly Nazi regiment.
I’ll update this if anything changes - but I refuse to delete the tweet and it seems like Twitter refuses to engage in good faith (quell surprise).
As always you can find me on Gettr at @RudderHardover and here on Substack, where speech reigns supreme over feelings of abuse and hate.
